Ashley Marinelli
Choreographer. Director. Playwright. Performing Artist.
Hi! I'm Ashley - a huge movement nerd who is obsessed with physical storytelling and creation of fictional universes.
I've spent time in concert dance companies, in music videos and on Broadway stages. I'm at home in an avant-garde space as much as I am in a commercial one and I pride myself on my creative flexibility and versatility. My favorite projects are the hybrid ones that combine theatrical storytelling with new-school ideas and techniques.
Most recently, I've choreographed Vape: The Grease Parody Musical (Off Broadway), Welcome to the Big Dipper (Off Broadway), The Perfect Game (Off-Broadway), Stranger Sings: The Parody Musical (Off-Broadway) and A Musical About Star Wars (Off-Broadway). I'm currently choreographing Les Miserables at Tuacahn Amiptheater in Utah and directing/choreographing Fall of the House, a new immersive show slated to open in 2026 in NYC.
I'm an adjunct professor of Dance/Theater at Marymount Manhattan College and Long Island University Post and just originated a new course called "Creativity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence". I have guested at Princeton, Slippery Rock University and Dean College and often work at Broadway Dance Center in NYC.
I judge dance competitions, I teach at conventions, I make my own pasta and I grow vegetables in my backyard in Brooklyn. I run a videography and editing business called Marinelli Moving Pictures. I love polyrhythms, stunt choreography, and my dog Lyanna (a 75 lb Husky/German Shepard mix). I will happily talk your ear off about space, literature and the meaning of life.
If you think we might vibe, drop me a line!
